Frequently Asked Questions

Q. If people don't like club cards, why not just shop somewhere else?

Unfortunately, it is getting harder and harder to find stores that do not have monitoring programs. The past decade has seen a merger and takeover frenzy in the supermarket industry that is almost unbelievable until you see the statistics for yourself. (Take a look at the News section of this website for details.) At the present rate of consolidation soon there will be only one or two mega-conglomerates operating the supermarkets in any given town. Eventually there may be only a few mega-conglomerates operating the supermarkets on the entire industrialized planet. While you may be able to temporarily resist privacy invasion by shopping elsewhere (and I highly recommend that you do), unless something is done to now to stop the use of club cards by the mega-conglomerates there will soon be no anonymous shopping options left.
